Miami Art and Design provides high quality art and design services, with particular focus on fashion design, graphic design, corporate identity packaging, arts writing, and art and design education.
Working out of both Miami and New York, some of our current and past clients have included Christian Dior, Argenti, and Diane Von Furstenberg. Graphic presentations have included Google, AT&T, The Democratic National Committee, Mass Mutual, University of Miami School of Music, and Beth Am, and art education programs have included The South Florida Ballet, Davis Arts Publications, and the Magnet Art programs of Miami-Dade County.
Tracy Ellyn has had extensive travel experience for the purposes of product development and art education, including Hong Kong, China, Japan, India, Europe and domestic trips.
It is also one of the missions of Miami Art and Design to teach the next generation of talented young art and design students, and to educate, inspire and acculturate young people in the Miami area via growth and awareness through the arts. The art experience has a dynamic effect on a child’s development and an adult’s continued growth. Through art, children learn to form consciousness, communicate, make judgments, think for themselves, perceive subtle relationships, be visually persuasive, express and articulate effectively, build confidence and competence, progress to higher standards, sense joy, grasp and use ideas, problem-solve, increase multicultural understanding, and finally, perceive and develop a special relationship with the world (Eisner). In short, art humanizes us.
Tracy Ellyn has a Master’s Degree (MS) in Art Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Fashion Design. She also holds State of Florida Professional Teacher Certification in Art K—12, is a member of the National Art Education Association and is a contributing editor to School Arts Magazine. She is a 3-time recipient of the National Art Education Association’s “Purposes, Principles and Standards Award for School Art Programs.” She has a total of nearly thirty years experience in the fields of fashion design, graphic design, and arts education.
Tracy has passionately enjoyed working as a designer, which has given her the opportunity to travel around the world visiting museums, factories, boutiques and side streets, collecting photographs, textiles, books, samples, visuals and art objects along the way, with which to inspire others.
Now her great joy is sharing this wealth of inspiration with the next generation and watching wide-eyed young talent grin from ear to ear as they see their world and have their own mastery experiences! |
